How you can support your child

You can support the development of your baby's sense of balance wonderfully and without much effort in everyday life. Every movement you make is a gentle invitation for your child to feel the world.

Move in varied ways throughout the day. A leisurely walk, a gentle swaying of the hips while cooking, or light dancing to your favorite music offer the baby wonderful, rhythmic impulses. These rocking movements are like a gentle massage for the child's nervous system and promote neural connections in the brain.

Make use of conscious moments of rest. When you relax and lie still, you give your child the space to become active themselves. They feel the absence of external movement and often use this time for their own gymnastics. Feel free to place your hands on your belly to lovingly respond to the little kicks and movements.

Try out gentle changes of position. Exercises from pregnancy yoga or light stretching alter the spatial alignment of your body. Your baby feels these changes and practices balancing out in the new situation. Swimming is also a wonderful experience.
