Weihnachtliche Quark-Stollen-Häppchen für Kleinkinder

Christmas Quark Stollen Bites for Toddlers

Seasonal12+m 30 min 4 VeggieMedium
Contains: Gluten, Dairy, Egg, Tree nuts, Honey

The festive season brings many sweet treats. These soft quark stollen bites are a wonderful addition to your family table. They provide valuable calcium from the quark and natural energy from dried fruits.

This recipe is specifically tailored to the needs of toddlers. The dough is wonderfully soft, making it easy for children with few teeth to chew safely. By leaving out traditional candied citrus peels, the flavor remains pleasantly mild and kid-friendly.

Ingredients

  • 150 g low-fat quark (or plain Greek yogurt)
  • 4 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 egg (organic)
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 tsp honey (only for children over 12 months)
  • 200 g spelt flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Ceylon cinnamon
  • 50 g raisins (very finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp ground almonds

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (standard top and bottom heat). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix the quark, canola oil, egg, applesauce, and honey until a smooth consistency forms.
  3. Combine the spelt flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and ground almonds in a separate bowl. Add the dry ingredients to the quark mixture and knead into a smooth, pliable dough.
  4. Gently fold the very finely chopped raisins into the dough.
  5. Shape the dough into small, bite-sized pieces and place them on the baking sheet with a little space in between.
  6. Bake the stollen bites in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes until they turn golden brown.
  7. Let them cool completely before serving. Please always check the temperature before offering them to your child.

Variations & Tips

  • Fruity alternative: Instead of raisins, you can use finely chopped dried apricots or dates.
  • Storage: Stored in an airtight container in the fridge, these bites will stay fresh for about three days.
  • Freezing: The mini stollen bites freeze beautifully. After thawing, you can warm them up briefly in the oven to make them soft again.
  • For the parents: Dust the adult portions with a little powdered sugar or a cinnamon-sugar mix after baking for a classic festive touch.

Allergy & Safety Notes

This recipe contains common EU14 allergens, namely egg, milk (quark), gluten (spelt flour), and tree nuts (almonds). Always introduce new foods one at a time and in small amounts to carefully monitor for any potential reactions.

An important note on sweetening: Honey must not be given during the first year of life due to the risk of infant botulism. Whole nuts pose a choking hazard, so please ensure you only use finely ground almonds for this recipe.

If you have any concerns about introducing new foods or potential allergies, please speak with your pediatrician.

Nutritional Information

These stollen bites provide high-quality protein and calcium from the quark, which supports healthy bone development. The spelt flour and almonds offer valuable fiber for good digestion. This gives your child long-lasting energy for exciting winter days.
