Creamy Stuffed Eggs with Mild Cream Cheese for Kids

Snacks2+y 30 min 4 VeggieEasy
Contains: Egg, Dairy

Introduction

These creamy stuffed eggs are a wonderful little snack for your child from three years of age. They provide valuable building blocks for growth and are easy to hold, making them a great finger food. Feel free to try this simple recipe, as it gently brings variety to your daily meals and sparks curiosity for new flavors.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs (preferably organic)
  • 2 tablespoons mild cream cheese (full fat)
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped chives (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 pinch sweet paprika powder
  • A very small pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. Place the eggs in a pot of boiling water and let them boil hard for about 10 minutes.
  2. Pour off the hot water, rinse the eggs under cold water, and let them cool completely.
  3. Peel the eggs, cut them in half lengthwise, and carefully scoop out the yolks with a small spoon.
  4. Place the egg yolks in a bowl along with the cream cheese, chives, paprika, and salt.
  5. Mash and stir everything with a fork until a smooth, creamy mixture forms.
  6. Use a teaspoon to fill the cream back into the empty egg white halves.
  7. Before serving, check that the food is at a comfortable eating temperature.

Variations and Tips

  • Different herbs: Instead of chives, mild parsley or a touch of dill also works wonderfully in this dish.
  • Storage: The stuffed eggs can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days. Unfortunately, this recipe is not suitable for freezing, as the cooked egg white becomes rubbery when thawed.
  • Adjusting texture: For children who prefer an even creamier filling, you can stir a tiny splash of milk into the yolk mixture.
  • For the whole family: Adults can refine their portion with a little black pepper, a splash of lemon juice, or spicy mustard.

Allergy and Safety Notes

  • This recipe contains eggs and dairy products (cream cheese), which belong to the main EU allergens.
  • Always introduce new foods one at a time and in small amounts to easily observe any potential reactions.
  • Ensure that the eggs are fully cooked through, as raw animal products are not suitable for young children.
  • If you have any uncertainties about your child's diet or suspect any intolerances, please speak with your pediatrician.

Nutritional Note

Eggs are an excellent source of high-quality protein, which your child needs for building muscles and tissue. They also provide important vitamins and iron, gently supporting cognitive development. The cream cheese adds a small portion of calcium, which is good for building strong bones.
