- Whisk the egg and brush the dough with it (or use a little milk).
- Bake the sausages for 12 to 15 minutes until the dough is golden brown.
- Let everything cool down well and check the temperature before eating.
Variations and Tips
Simply swap the meat sausages for vegetarian or vegan alternatives. For a little more color, you can sprinkle some grated cheese or sesame seeds over the dough before baking. Serve with colorful vegetable sticks made of cucumber, bell pepper, or carrot. The baked sausages keep well in the fridge for about two days. They can also be easily frozen and reheated in the oven when needed.
Allergy and Safety Information
This recipe contains gluten (puff pastry) and egg. Always introduce new ingredients one at a time and in small amounts to observe any potential reactions. For young children, slice plump, round foods like sausages lengthwise if needed to minimize the risk of choking. If you have any concerns about diet or introducing new foods, it is best to speak with your pediatrician.
Nutritional Information
This dish provides quick energy through the carbohydrates in the puff pastry and valuable proteins from the sausages. When combined with fresh raw vegetables as a side dish, the meal is wonderfully balanced. This way, your child takes in important vitamins and fiber at the same time.
