Ingredients
- 100 g fresh or frozen raspberries (unsweetened)
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 150 ml water, breast milk, or prepared formula
- Optional: 1 teaspoon mild almond butter (100 percent nuts, no additives)
Preparation
- Wash the fresh raspberries or gently heat the frozen berries in a small pot.
- Add the water, breast milk, or formula to the raspberries and puree everything finely.
- Stir the chia seeds into the fruit mixture and let them soak for about 20 minutes.
- Important for early eaters: Puree the entire mixture vigorously in a blender after soaking until a completely smooth consistency is formed without any noticeable grains.
- Let the pudding cool to room temperature before feeding and test the temperature on the back of your hand.
Variations & Tips
- Fruity variety: Simply swap the raspberries for mild pears or sweet strawberries.
- Storage: The pudding can be kept covered in the fridge for up to two days. It also freezes beautifully in small ice cube trays.
- For the family: Parents and older siblings can sweeten the pudding for themselves with a little maple syrup and garnish it with fresh fruit or nuts.
- Adjusting texture: For older children who already enjoy small textures, you can skip the second pureeing step.
Allergy & Safety Information
Always introduce new ingredients like raspberries or chia seeds individually and in small amounts. This allows you to observe how your child reacts. If you use almond butter, note that tree nuts can cause allergies.
Never give whole nuts and seeds in the early years. Always offer them finely ground or as a smooth butter. If you have any uncertainties about introducing solid foods, please speak with your pediatrician.
Nutritional Information
Raspberries provide valuable vitamin C, which gently supports the body. Chia seeds are known for their high-quality plant fats and dietary fiber. These nutrients wonderfully accompany your child during their daily discoveries.
