Sommerlicher Kirsch-Bananen-Haferbrei für Babys

Summer Cherry Banana Oat Puree for Babies

Seasonal5+m 17 min 4 VeganEasy
Contains: Gluten

Sweet cherries meet mild banana and hearty oats in this gentle recipe. This puree brings a taste of summer straight to the spoon, offering a wonderful way to introduce new flavors. The cherries are carefully pitted and cooked until soft, creating a safe and fruity meal.

This puree is beautifully suited for early weaning experiences. It is gentle on tiny tummies and combines familiar, mild textures with an exciting new fruit. Parents can look forward to guiding their child through these delightful new taste adventures.

Ingredients

  • 100 g sweet cherries (fresh, washed, and pitted)
  • 0.5 ripe banana (approx. 50 g)
  • 2 tbsp rolled oats (approx. 20 g)
  • 100 ml water
  • 1 tsp canola oil (or specific baby weaning oil)

Preparation

  1. Wash the cherries thoroughly, cut them in half, and remove the pits completely.
  2. Place the prepared cherries, oats, and water into a small saucepan.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 to 7 minutes until the cherries are very soft.
  4. Remove the pot from the heat, add the banana in small pieces, and stir in the oil.
  5. Blend the mixture with an immersion blender until you reach a completely smooth consistency with no lumps.
  6. Let the puree cool down well. Always test the temperature on the back of your hand before feeding.

Variations & Tips

  • Instead of cherries, mild peaches or apricots work wonderfully for this puree.
  • Stored in a clean, airtight container, the puree keeps in the fridge for up to two days.
  • You can easily freeze this meal. Using ice cube trays makes portioning very convenient for thawing just the right amount.
  • For older children who are already chewing, you can simply mash the cooked ingredients with a fork instead of blending them smooth.

Allergy & Safety Information

Oats naturally contain gluten unless they are specifically labeled gluten-free. Always introduce new ingredients one at a time and in small amounts to monitor for any reactions. Be extremely careful when preparing cherries and ensure every single pit is removed.

Milk remains the primary source of nutrition during the first year. If you have any questions or concerns about starting solids, please speak with your pediatrician.

Nutritional Information

This puree provides valuable energy from the oats, which are also a great source of plant-based iron. The banana adds natural sweetness and potassium. Cherries contribute vitamin C, which conveniently helps the body absorb the iron from the oats more effectively.
