Sommerlicher Zucchini-Pfirsich-Brei für Babys

Summer Zucchini and Peach Puree for Babies

Seasonal5+m 20 min 4 VeganEasy

Introduction

This refreshing combination of mild summer vegetables and sweet fruit is ideal for those very first spoonfuls. Zucchini provides valuable nutrients, while the peach adds a gentle, natural sweetness. The puree is particularly light, easy to digest, and creates a wonderful opportunity to explore new flavors.

Ingredients

  • 100 g zucchini (organic preferred)
  • 1 ripe peach (approx. 100 g, peeled and pitted)
  • 1 tsp high-quality weaning oil (such as canola oil)
  • A little water for steaming (approx. 50 ml)

Preparation

  1. Wash the zucchini thoroughly and trim off the ends. Dice the vegetable into small, even pieces.
  2. Wash and peel the peach, remove the pit, and cut the flesh into small cubes as well.
  3. Place the zucchini cubes and water into a small pot. Let everything simmer gently over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the peach pieces and let the mixture steam for another 3 to 5 minutes until everything is very soft.
  5. Blend the mixture with an immersion blender until you reach a very smooth, fine consistency with no lumps. Stir in the weaning oil at the very end.
  6. Let the puree cool down completely. Always check the temperature on the inside of your wrist before feeding your child.

Variations and Tips

  • Storage: The puree keeps well in a sealed container in the fridge for up to two days. It also freezes beautifully, especially when portioned out in ice cube trays.
  • Substitutions: If peaches are not in season, you can easily use a mild apple or a soft pear instead.
  • Adjusting Texture: For the very beginning, you can mix the puree with a little breast milk or formula to make it even more liquid.
  • Family Tip: Simply stir any leftover puree into your own plain yogurt or oatmeal for a fruity breakfast addition.

Allergy and Safety Information

Always introduce new ingredients one at a time and in small amounts to easily observe any potential reactions. This recipe is free from the main allergens, gluten-free, and dairy-free. Remember that milk remains the primary source of nutrition for your child throughout the first year. If you have any uncertainties about starting solids or general nutrition questions, please consult your pediatrician.

Nutritional Information

This summer puree provides plenty of vitamins and hydration for warmer days. Zucchini is rich in valuable minerals and easily digestible fiber. The peach contributes important vitamin C, which wonderfully supports the absorption of iron from other foods throughout the day.
