Variations & Tips
- Different vegetables: The zucchini can easily be swapped for finely grated carrots or sweet potatoes.
- Storage: The muffins will keep in the fridge for about two days. They also freeze beautifully and can be thawed individually as needed.
- For the whole family: Adults can enjoy their portion with a pinch of salt and pepper or a savory dip on the side.
- Texture adjustment: For children just starting with finger food, you can cut the muffins into long strips. This makes them much easier to grasp.
Allergy & Safety Notes
This recipe contains the EU allergens egg, gluten (spelt flour), and milk (cheese). Always introduce new ingredients one at a time and in small amounts to easily observe any potential reactions.
All animal products, like the egg in this recipe, must be fully cooked for babies. If you have any uncertainties about introducing solid foods or potential allergies, it is best to speak with your pediatrician.
Nutrition Note
The zucchini provides valuable vitamins and moisture, making the muffins pleasantly soft. The rapeseed oil supplies your child with important omega-3 fatty acids for brain development. At the same time, the spelt flour offers long-lasting energy through complex carbohydrates.
